The Police Officer Screening and Selection Exam (POSSE) is the written exam used by various police agencies in Oklahoma including the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The POSSE was developed by the CareerTech Testing Center in partnership with the Council for Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) and the Department of Public Safety – Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP)

The Oklahoma Police Officer Screening and Selection Exam (POSSE) is 95 minutes long with 70 questions covering the following test topics:

  1. Basic Math

  2. Incident Report Writing

  3. Reading Comprehension

  4. Grammar, Punctuation and Writing Effectiveness

  5. Spelling

These test topics are the same found on the NCJOSI-1 exam that was traditionally used throughout Oklahoma.
