Alabama Police Written Exam
The Police Written exam for Alabama is the Alabama Basic Abilities Test (BAT) as recommended by the Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC).
If you are applying to become an Alabama Trooper, a more extensive exam (below) will be used to screen applicants.
1 - The Basic Abilities Test (BAT).
If you are applying for a position with a local police or sheriff’s office in Alabama, you will be required to pass the Alabama Basic Abilities Test. The BAT uses three components of the ACT WorkKeys Assessment as :
Reading Comprehension (Workplace Documents), 35 questions, 55 minutes
Locating Information (Graphic Literacy), 38 questions, 55 minutes
Applied Math, 34 questions, 55 minutes
